Old Town Boutique Store

workcase

The design of this concept store is based on two main principles: the needs and requirements that come as a result of its commercial use (clothes, accessories and décor items), and on the other hand the existing stone domed space of particular archaeological interest. Starting from the space itself, the main goal is to remove all the unnecessary recent additions from the façade and mostly from the interior, because they work as obstacles hiding from the public view the dome and the rest historical architectural elements. Hence all the helping functional zones are placed in the center avoiding making contact with the walls and the ceiling. In this way a polymorphic architectural object is shaped at the inner part of the store which serves as a display area, a storage room, a toilet and a changing room. It is a central sculptural synthesis that hides doors and other auxiliary equipment so that the original building shell stays as intact as possible from long term interventions.
